Inquiry

October 2, 2008

Dear Living Beings,

This message is for all of us. All who breathe, all who feel, all who need food, sleep, shelter and security. All of us who survive on this planet called Earth, which is a small part of this galaxy, which is again part of the Universe where millions of other galaxies and many trillions of similar planets exist, all of us who are born and are told that we would be dead sooner or later. There is enough evidence around to prove these basic facts, isn’t it?

First of all my question is do we know who we are. Do we know what are we here for? Do we know what the purpose of our life is? Do we know what are we supposed to do? One thing one want to make clear is that this is not again a philosophical business. This is truth and we all know it. Most of us agree that life is all about money, food, sex, shelter and security. Are we aware that there is more to life than craving for money, desires and competition?  Do we ever try to find out more from life? Yes there are many people living here who are doing more than the four basic requirements mentioned before. But is it enough? We have great musicians, fighters, artists, sportsmen, speakers and many more of such great gems who dazzle our world. Yes, they are the crown. But is it enough? Can’t we move further? Does life end here?

We all know what business goes around in the world. We are confined with our desires, our mind. We do what we are taught and we do not ever dare to think more than that, because of fear; fear of losing our identity, or fear from powerful people governing this world. We all know that we are going to die, because we have seen it going that way with other people. That is something which creates agony within us. Then there is fear of emotions, we are humans. We have feelings and emotions. We cry, we laugh, we love, we hate, and we do all what is not mechanical. We agree that emotions are one important aspect where we could be distinguished from machines, robots and computers. I did not say trees, animals and birds because they too have emotions. They do feel anger, hatred, love and attachment too, although they are not human beings. They feel the love, they feel the agony.

We are all living a mundane life no better than trees, animals and birds. It is actually worse. I can prove it is worse. Then we have mind, the desires and thoughts. Mind is something what rules most part of our lives, we human beings have multiple minds. Mind is nothing but ego, the self. It is what creates thoughts, it is what creates desires, it is energy behind all our sins and achievements. Yes, achievements too. Mind is a blind jockey which keeps whipping us all the time and creates desires and then provides energy to fulfil them. I said blind because it is biased. It cannot differentiate between truth and erroneous. It makes us keep running in this blind race where nobody wins. People seem to win or loose, but actually nothing is ever lost or won.

It is here, survives eternally. Remember wise people have said, “Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, but can only be converted from one form to another”. We seem to own a lot of things. We own our house, our cars, our machines, our clothes, don’t we? What is going to happen to all these possessions of yours when you die or when you don’t exist? Somebody else will take over them. It becomes the property of somebody else. He is ruling it now; temporary dictatorship. When he dies, somebody else will take care. The cycle goes on and on, endlessly. The things survive, eternally, in one form or the other. Physical attributes change. They say, it all existed as a gigantic mass of energy. They there was the biggest collision in the history of Earth – Big Bang. That created universe, galaxies, stars and planets. Energy always exists. It can never be destroyed. You can climb the biggest mountains, swim through the Atlantic, conquer the stars, or dig out the deepest mines, it’s all the same. Physical aspects are different, energy is always present.

I am writing all this to trigger an inquiry within you, within me. Let us all inquire. Let us learn to inquire. Inquiring is not just probing or getting answers to your routine questions. Inquiring is deeper. Inquiring is more subtle. Inquire means to explore, to find out, to dig deeper; to find more meaning to all of this.

Can we begin with the ground level? Can we again start with a zero? Why zero because all of your intellectual oceans, hills and valleys are made up of virtual sand, which blows away even with the smallest jerk of wind and which is an effort of the society at large, for their own benefits. Society has created your mind or rather nurtured it. They have taught you what was needed for you to serve them. They can’t teach you more. Don’t expect miracles from them. You will have to work on it yourselves. Your perverted and crippled mind is the gift or rather by product of the education provided to you by the society. A crowd can never be intelligent. Intellect, freedom and bliss are individual’s aspects. An individual can be happy, or sad, or intelligent or idiot, or free or enslaved; crowd can never be. Society is a crowd.

Remember nobody will do a favour. They cannot, they have their own self. They have to feed their desires; they do need their bread and butter. As long as you are helpful to them in one or the other means, they will help you. Lets us reclaim this fake business. You only can find answers to your questions. Nobody else can. I am a human being. I am weak, I have fear of death and I have desires. I have feelings. I am not god. I am a simple man like you all or rather weak. I am not able to understand all this matter.

Gods are the nothing but our desires aggregated in larger masses. We create gods when we want. We ask them to fulfil our desires. We visit churches, temples and mosques only when we have something to ask for, but that is human nature. We are born with a self, an ego, a mind which makes you run all the time. You are not able to take a halt. Stop for a second and think. What if you fulfil all your desires of power, money, luxury, lust? Won’t more of them arise when earlier ones have been accomplished? Does this business ever stop? It never stops. We continue to crave for desires. We go on and on. We never stop, because, if we stop for a second, we might start thinking what is all this nonsense. God has become a business. Temples and churches are biggest of shopping malls where gaining, loosing, negotiating and all that business goes on. We buy gods in rupees and dollars, if not, then in golds and silvers. We promise him to pay if he fulfils what we want. Is this the god we pray, is this the god we trust?

Motion keeps us afresh with our desires and senses. That’s why we keep running all the time. You know that stagnant water becomes useless. Mind is the same. If you stop for minute, you tend to think, what the hell is going on? And mind stops to work. Mind moves every inch to make you run again, in this endless world of thoughts, desires and needs.

I am not against the mind; I am neither against desires, nor materialistic demands. I am an inquirer. I want to inquire, I want to find out. I have all these possessions. I love, I cry, I feel for other people, I have fear of death. I am not against this world. I cannot be. This is the only place we have, this is the only time we have got and this is the only life you are gifted. Let us all inquire, inquire within you, inquire the nature, inquire the trees, and inquire the world around, what is missing. Despite of all what we have there is something important missing, something substantial. We miss happiness and we miss freedom. We miss ourselves. We do not want to be machines, do we? Then let us all explore all the seen and the unseen. Let us find more out of it and then this all will start making sense. Even if you die within your process of exploration and inquiry, trust me, you would not go to hell, if there exists one!

Jonathan Livingston Seagull

July 25, 2008

It is a book of substance; a book of meaning; a book for life. That’s all I can say for Jonathan Livingston Seagull, one of the best books I have ever read; a gifted writer, a gifted story and a gifted truth; what a rare combination. The book was one of the bestsellers and this by any means and in no ways, a compensation reward for the story and the meaning behind it. The success of the writer and the book will only be accomplished only and only if a few could find the real Jonathan within them.

The book is a fiction story by Richard Bach, one of the great writers, world has ever produced. The first time I read the book, it started a thought process in me; it made me think beyond my life style, my daily routines. It made me think the purpose of this life. It made me realize that there is so much to live, so much to find, so much to explore. The book added lots of efficacious and dynamic words in my vocabulary. Some of them being:

Experiment, Explore, Experience – The perfect E’s
Practice, Perfection – Best P’s
“The more you learn, the more you grow, the more you grow, the more is the joy in living, the more is the joy, the perfect your life is”.

It really helps us visualize living a perfect and immortal life.

Some of the great punches from the book which inspired me most are given below:

“I don’t mind being bone and feathers, mom. I just want to know what I can do in the air and what I can’t, that’s all. I just want to know.”

“His thought was triumph. Terminal velocity! A seagull at two hundred fourteen miles per hour! It was breakthrough, the greatest single moment in the history of the Flock, and in that moment a new age opened for Jonathan Gull.”

“Do you have any idea how many lives we must have gone through before we even got the first idea that there is more to life than eating, or fighting, or power in the flock?”

“Heaven is not a place, and it is not a time, Heaven is being perfect.”

The book has still occupied us in thousands of shades of our lives and will keep us occupied eternally.

Do you really own anything??

July 22, 2008

Once there was a Millionaire who always boasted of his money. And there was a saint who had nothing. He worn torn clothes and roamed in his spiritual ecstasy.

Once the Millionaire and the saint happened to meet in a dry afternoon. The saint had heard about Millionaire’s pride for his money. The saint decided to teach him a lesson for life.

Saint: “I have heard that you own millions of money?”

Millionaire: In pompous smile on his face, “Yes, I do. I own millions.”

Saint: “Ok. Can you lend me a million out of your millions?”

Millionaire: “Yes, indeed. Anyways I donate a lot for spiritual missions and monasteries.”

Saint: “Hmm, but I want it now?”

Millionaire: “You must be kidding. How can I give you now? I cannot carry that much money in my pocket. I need to go to a bank or I can write you a cheque.”

Saint: “I do not need a cheque and anyways I want it now. Ok, leave that aside. What if I destroy all the banks in the city? Can you still give me the money I need?” Saint said with a blissful smile on his lips.

Millionaire: “Oh….is that. In that case I can go to a bank in another city and provide you with the money you want.”

Saint: “Hmm…reasonable. What if I destroy all the banks in the country?”

Millionaire: “Hmmm….seems you are a magician. Anyways I can always fly to another country and get you the money.”

Saint: “Ok…thoughtful enough. What if I destroy all the banks, government repositories in the world?”

Millionaire: “That’s too much,” said Millionaire in sheer surprise. “Well in that case I cannot give you the money.”

Saint: “But you said you can and you owned a lot of money, dint you?”

Millionaire: “Yes I do, only if all the money repositories are not destroyed.”

Saint: “Well, in that case do you really own it? You are dependent on banks to store your money?”

Millionaire: “Yes, it is true”, said Millionaire in a dull voice.

Saint: “Tell me something you really own?”

Millionaire: “I own my body. I can provide you with my body,” said Millionaire after thinking for a while.

Saint: “What if I destroy your body? It is anyway going to get degraded and die finally. Do you really own anything?”

Millionaire: “Hmm…Do I really own anything?” asked Millionaire to himself in an almost inaudible voice.

Saint: “Yes, you do own something which you can offer me, but before that you should find out what do you own?”

Millionaire: “Ahh…..I do own something!” Millionaire jumped off in a delight as if he found another millions of money. But, asked Millionaire, “What is that I own?”

Saint: “Find it out child. This is all I do!” said the saint and disappeared.

Why can’t you enjoy Completeness of Life and Otherwise?

July 16, 2008

Most of what you have or you do not have in life is circumscribed by the following questions:

1.       What are your habits?

2.       What do you like?

3.       What you do not like?

4.       What do you want to learn but currently don’t know?

5.       What are your duties?

These questions play an important role in contracting or dilating your life’s horizons. Ideally Life should be free by all means but hardly that is the case. Mostly you find it detained, entangled, dull, full of misery and perverted.

Finding answers to above questions and working on them will help you to live life to the fullest and to go beyond; to reach the ultimate heavens, unlimited energies and extreme heights. Below is a more categorized form of questions above, marked with examples:

1.       Dependencies and weaknesses

  • Habits
  • Things you like

2.       Fears and Phobias

  • Things you don’t like
  • Things you don’t know

3.       Duties and Obligations

  • Society
  • Rituals, Traditions and Practices
  • Religion

Let’s consider an example to simplify it further. Say, I want to live my life to the fullest. I want to enjoy and utilize every single moment. I want to go everywhere, enjoy everything. What stops me from doing so?

Dependencies and weaknesses: Habits – Good or Bad

I am an addict of drinking tea. I cannot start my mornings without a cup of tea. This confines my enjoyment in places and times when I don’t get tea. Habits or behaviors limit your life. They could be good or bad. They might spoil or enrich your life in materialistic terms but they make it dormant. Similar pattern applies with all the other habits.

Dependencies and weaknesses: Likings

I am a naturalistic person. I am fond of mountains, trees, snow, birds and all that is natural. This constitutes one of my weaknesses and is a limitation. This diverts my interest more towards nature and its substitutes. It is a condition, a restriction, put on my life. If given a choice of visiting a friend or going on a forest trip on some weekend, I would definitely prefer the latter, because I have a liking towards it.

Fears and Phobias: Things you don’t like

I personally don’t like getting injected and get disturbed by mere a sight of blood. I do not enjoy visiting doctors and hospitals. This is a fear and demarcates my life. Similarly, you might have different phobias which restrict you from living a perfect life.

Fears and Phobias: Things you don’t know

I cannot swim. Hence naturally I would not feel fortunate if somebody pushes me into the water. Ignorance is the cause. Although it is not a phobia but due to ignorance, it behaves like one and restricts me from enjoying the depths of lakes and splashes of pools.

Duties and Obligations

I am currently single and stay with my parents. If I want to go anywhere or start a new practice, it is beneficial although not a mandate to let other dependent or concerned people know about it or confirm their approval. In some cases an approval might be needed but in others, it could only be information for them. Whatever is the case; it is also a shortcoming factor. I am not saying anything against your parents, relatives, friends, partners but I am trying to say that your duties and obligations do play a role in encaging your life. Family is the start, but bigger barriers are religion, society, all the rituals and practices you are supposed to follow.

I hope you might have had an idea by now how Dependencies, Fears and Duties hinder your journey to the ultimate being. How they play most important role in handicapping and perverting completeness of your life.

Love is one ecstasy; sex is another

February 24, 2008

Love is one of the feelings which can be ranked highest among all the other feelings, emotions. It is greatest among all the senses. It gives you peace, freedom, pain, desire, sensitivity, beauty, energy at the same time. It is the best feeling one can have; one great ecstasy for living beings.

Sex is another ecstasy which gives you a feeling of divinity and a mixture of all the other nouns used above. It is a combination of physical and mental satisfaction, peace.

Love and sex, they both make two extremes of human emotions. These are two best feelings organisms can have, two perfect and complete emotions, felt ever. Sex is the only energy behind every organism taking birth and the only energy to start the world. Love is the only energy which keeps the running. Everyone wants peace, which means love in deep meanings. Everybody wants to be happy, which means satisfaction and hence a thirst of love. Without these powers, you cannot even imagine the world. It will evaporate just like ice does when you try to catch it. Human make most of their living revolving around these two extremities.

When these two come together, it makes the best innervations ever possible. The purer the feelings are, the intense and pleasurable the result is.

Although achieving both at the same time might mean having sex with somebody whom you love, or to start loving your partner for sex, if these two don’t happen to go together!!

The four extracts

February 15, 2008

**************
Life is so different. There is so much, but you have to find the ways. Although when you sense it more and more, the more you find. It is not just this world, but the three worlds around and all the unseen ones. Let’s find all the unseen ones, one of us for each of them, one is enough and let’s just have one of us for all the seen ones.

**************
World is heaven or hell, you decide. Everything here you is what you chose. At the beginning, someone else has the choice, but in the end, you are the one who decides. Use the best of your skills to choose.

**************
You wake up some day and you see that the world is awake. You wake up before the world and you gain time, you open your eyes later than the world and you lose time.

**************
Wake up. Once you wake up completely from your inner soul and body, you will see three dimensions of time, space and matter.

Every relation here is hell

February 7, 2008

Every relation here is hell. Just be yourself. Do not ever bother about any relation in life. It’s all hell here. Every relation is false and virtual. Everybody tries and proves to be honest and true. Nobody is true, neither honest. Learn to be honest and yourself. Nothing excites me here. It’s all a graveyard here and the world if full of selfish, egoistic, fake lives. Nobody supports you or has time when you need it.

Nobody has time to listen to you. They all behave differently at different times. Please learn and understand quickly. Please get me out of here. It’s all hell and a graveyard, a place full of emotionless people, heartless, timeless people. I don’t want to teach anything to anybody; neither have I wanted to explain anything to anybody about myself. They all listen (sometimes) but do not really have a heart, which can beat for someone without conditions; they all want their happiness, likings, interests and mates. Very few of them here think anything about anybody without conditions or reasons. I am lost. I am stuck in a web, where I am not able to come out by any ways, or by any means. Please help me. I too have emotions, interests and likings. Expectation is the root cause of sorrow. It’s all a mess here. Please get me out of here.
