A planned encounter

July 5, 2009

She stood so near to me, I was so sure this time. I could feel her. I could see her so close to me, although in a literal sense. I could feel the incense of her body. A mixed aroma of her partially wet hair, wide lips, and a budding young body. We stood there, besides each other, discussing routine stuff, which is always discussed. What was new and exceptional, was her smile, a gesture, seen while she was talking. That enlightened the moment and gave it a sense of purity. A cheerful expression and a glow in her face when I cracked a joke.

All I wanted was to make her smile. Smiles are worthy. I somehow knew but never realized this before. It really works. I stood there, static, watching her smile, a line of white teeth visible behind pink and sensuous lips. Her hair, tied at her back with few strands falling on her shoulder on the front. Her soft hands were moving, while she was speaking, as if she was a magician and casting a spell on me. This was all so real. I could not feel anything no more. This was a sense of achievement.

She finished what she had to and took a leave. I was suddenly taken aback. I did not want to show her that I missed her presence, which was painful but an ingenious experience for me. I did not want to let her go. Nobody could let go of the moments which filled their lives with so much joy. I could do no more. I had to let her go. I did not say anything, not a word. All I did was to see her leave.

She left on time, completing what she had to. It was as per plan and anticipated and cannot be retailored. Blocked calendars are never modified, except for other priority requirements sometimes, to move something pre or post, or to replace one appointment with another. They are never altered to occupy moments like this. Outlook or Squirrel has not yet worked on software’s to plan moments of bliss. They can only plan business meetings. Let’s hope for them to do better in the future.

I only kept thinking about her. She was so complete in her presence. She made me feel happy. She made me feel myself. I could not say anything or move. There was no hurry, in her actions, but a finishing. She was not an amateur. She was a professional, used to this world. She knew the rules. Not that she had no feelings, but she did not express it, or may be hid them so well, that nobody could find out. At least I could not. Then I got busy thinking about when I could see her next.

Moments of truth

December 15, 2008

A common person living life in everyday way like others with no difference
never thought why? or how to improvize ways, its colors and fragrance
greets everyone he confronts in his daily routine, share regular gossips,
getting up, working, sleeping and enjoying those mundane dreams and trips

There are these moments of joy and then there are times of agony
few people touching your heart and most creating pain and tyranny
The world around is full of things, people, vibrations and subtle sensations
Gaining new experiences every time you overcome or visit these formations

Some sudden days and abrupt moments of time among routine seem strange and aloof
As if everything of the past is forgotten and all recorded memory loses proof
This period of time to live is the most difficult challenge of all
for he has no idea what is going on and whom to confront and what to recall

Is it a sign of a gloomy season, or an indication for meaningless relations and savors
for all matter and endeavors seem irrational and blunt, tasteless without flavours
Faith helps to survive in this darkness and helps him to keep alive among dead
Does it seem a proportional way to survive or will the answers be revealed for this dread?

Jonathan Livingston Seagull

July 25, 2008

It is a book of substance; a book of meaning; a book for life. That’s all I can say for Jonathan Livingston Seagull, one of the best books I have ever read; a gifted writer, a gifted story and a gifted truth; what a rare combination. The book was one of the bestsellers and this by any means and in no ways, a compensation reward for the story and the meaning behind it. The success of the writer and the book will only be accomplished only and only if a few could find the real Jonathan within them.

The book is a fiction story by Richard Bach, one of the great writers, world has ever produced. The first time I read the book, it started a thought process in me; it made me think beyond my life style, my daily routines. It made me think the purpose of this life. It made me realize that there is so much to live, so much to find, so much to explore. The book added lots of efficacious and dynamic words in my vocabulary. Some of them being:

Experiment, Explore, Experience – The perfect E’s
Practice, Perfection – Best P’s
“The more you learn, the more you grow, the more you grow, the more is the joy in living, the more is the joy, the perfect your life is”.

It really helps us visualize living a perfect and immortal life.

Some of the great punches from the book which inspired me most are given below:

“I don’t mind being bone and feathers, mom. I just want to know what I can do in the air and what I can’t, that’s all. I just want to know.”

“His thought was triumph. Terminal velocity! A seagull at two hundred fourteen miles per hour! It was breakthrough, the greatest single moment in the history of the Flock, and in that moment a new age opened for Jonathan Gull.”

“Do you have any idea how many lives we must have gone through before we even got the first idea that there is more to life than eating, or fighting, or power in the flock?”

“Heaven is not a place, and it is not a time, Heaven is being perfect.”

The book has still occupied us in thousands of shades of our lives and will keep us occupied eternally.

Love

April 1, 2008

Hey, do you really understand?
what is Love?
it it a responsibility,
or an aimless goal?

Neither it is a burden
nor a target either
it is a pleasant feeling
of the divine nature

It tears every bond
it ignores every tradition
love, always gives a start
to a new custom

It can’t be derived
it cannot be invented either
only if you are rare enough
then you are bestowed dear

It gives you energy
it makes you smile
teaches you the truth
of your own soul

It helps you forget
all the hostility and problems
love teaches you to,
start caring for every relation

It itself is colorless
but see the miracle
anything filled with love
expresses its true color

Its depth is unmeasurable
its power is unbeatable
its feel is intense
its touch is unforgetable

If you are in love
you the luckier one
as the luckiest being
whom you really love!

Learning, learning and learning!

January 11, 2008

Learning is something which can bring you anything and everything in life, it can bring you success, money, fame, knowledge, skills; anything you can think of.

In my opinion, learning is an art as well as science. Art means the creativity side of it, while science means the logic (facts) side of it.

Learning as Science:
Learning process can be defined, planned and achieved using certain pre-defined or new rules; however rules do exist. The process can be broken into algorithmic steps; you can practice the process and hence achieve perfection. The same defined process could then be used by someone else.

Learning as Art:
During the process of learning, you are continuously adding new gems of knowledge and completely new facts to your already existing pool of knowledge. Two people learn the same things differently; reason being their creativity, their own style of using senses. They devise completely different, sometimes little different ways of learning the same thing, compared to others, learning the same thing. Everybody has their own bent of mind, areas of interest, areas of skills, level of intellect, hence results are different.

Keep learning, learning and learning; one point to keep in mind, learning being a powerful word, might leave you in confusion and hence directionless. Learning can become a colossal skill and asset, if it is in line with your interest, profession, curiosity, intellect level, perception or any of these areas.

Learn from life, learn from people around, learn from trees, learn from birds, animals and learn from sky, rivers everywhere; there are hidden pearls and diamonds all around.

Begin with learning in small steps and keep advancing with bigger steps and finally learn as a whole. Keep practising throughout and finally apply your own creativity, your own style. Once the learning is achieved or completed, continue practising in periodical routines, because iron gets rusted, if not used, similar are skills. Always keep sharpening and wiping off the dust from your saw.

Ø       I have never in my life learned anything from any man who agreed with me.  -         Dudley Field Malone

Ø       Some people will never learn anything, for this reason, because they understand everything too soon.  -         Alexander Pope

Ø       The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.  -         Alvin Toffler

Ø       Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.-         Gandhi

Ø       I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think -         Socrates

Ø       I never teach my pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn. -         Albert Einstein

Ø       What I hear, I forget.
     What I see, I remember.
     What I do, I understand.
-         Kung Fu Tzu (Confucius)

Ø       I think, therefore I am (Cogito, ergo sum.) -         Descartes

Ø       Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell ‘em, ‘Certainly I can!’ Then get busy and find out how to do it. -         Theodore Roosevelt

Ø       “I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship.”-         Louisa May Alcott

Three Golden Rules

August 2, 2007

Based on my experiences towards and from life, I had given a thought over it for quite some years and decided to jot down something that would help all of us to carry our lives forward in better manner; an approach to create simple humans, fewer wars, more acceptance and truth and comfort in living.

The gems laid down below are not just theories or any points picked up from any where, but on the contrary, they are summarizing the better and simple way of living as per my experiences.

  • Never ever try to teach, explain, or train anybody by indirect, verbal or hard (written) approach unless there is a hunger (need) and a level of understanding in the person. Otherwise, your teachings go waste. Don’t keep giving advices, comments and lectures when not required. Confirm whether the person listening really has a need for that and he has an intellect, social, and mental level to accept and understand them.
  • Accept your mistakes with pride and honor in front of everybody. Never hide your mistakes, crimes and sins. This helps you become a simple and a better individual. This will redefine your life and help you grow intellectually, socially and spiritually.
  • You are never answerable to anybody for your actions but to your own Conscience (self). Never betray yourself. Whenever you are confused and doubtful about doing any action in life, sit down quietly for a while and ask your inner self, is this right? The answer comes. Trust me, it works. Try to listen to your inner voice whenever needed. This will again help you in becoming a better and clear, simple person.
