Love

April 1, 2008

Hey, do you really understand?
what is Love?
it it a responsibility,
or an aimless goal?

Neither it is a burden
nor a target either
it is a pleasant feeling
of the divine nature

It tears every bond
it ignores every tradition
love, always gives a start
to a new custom

It can’t be derived
it cannot be invented either
only if you are rare enough
then you are bestowed dear

It gives you energy
it makes you smile
teaches you the truth
of your own soul

It helps you forget
all the hostility and problems
love teaches you to,
start caring for every relation

It itself is colorless
but see the miracle
anything filled with love
expresses its true color

Its depth is unmeasurable
its power is unbeatable
its feel is intense
its touch is unforgetable

If you are in love
you the luckier one
as the luckiest being
whom you really love!

Mind over matter

February 3, 2008

Mind is wandering all the time, at every place; it never seems to take a halt. It is a never ending waterfall, the only difference against waterfall here is thoughts; thoughts flow from mind.

It is very difficult to control your mind, however not impossible. I guess that’s the only task in this world, which seems and is toughest. Mind has lots of tricks to trouble you, to show you new dungeons every nanosecond.

Mind does not like rules; it is always desperate to break all the rules; to cross all the barriers. Breaking barriers is good sometimes, you achieve lots of gargantuan goals, which are otherwise impossible to achieve. Every emotion, the language of mind, could be converted to an impossible outcome, since it supplies tremendous amount of hidden and sleeping potential from within which adds together to create souvnier paths.

The emotion is one of the language in which mind talks. When you feel emotional, you tend to behave erratic, suddenly vague from what you have been behaving for months or years, suddenly diverting from your routine life. The mind is the host of all the dramas.

Your subconscious part of the mind stores everything; it is like a huge database of all the pictures, moments, names, knowledge, skills, thoughts, affections, love, feelings, people, seen, heard, felt or sensed in anyway and in any time.

People when high always speak truth; since filters of the mind loosen up that time, they allow lots of actions and thoughts to go out, which are normally blocked. Your subconscious mind is working when you are asleep, the processing is going on. New thoughts, new actions, new planning are getting cooked all the time, mind doesn’t stop working. You are fascinated by things, humans whom you like, or have similar or common habits, those who like you, or those who care for you. It never ends; the quicker the mind takes to get attracted towards something, the quicker it gets bored and detached from the same things. You never know what you are going to like or dislike, things liked in past may not fascinate you tomorrow.

Mind is a big subject to be talked about, a never ending one. It does not have a size, a shape, a residing place or a definition. All the people who have tried to talk or write about mind have expressed their own thoughts, views on the subject. There is no check or evidence of the talks. It is a quite interesting area to talk about but at the same time, it is quite confusing too. I am going through the same feeling which lots of other people in the world have gone through i.e. to know mind, in and out. This seems a herculean task, although might not be impossible. Get deeper and deeper and you might find something. This subject is truly philosophy. Some portion is rational, rest all invisible, unseen, unexpected seems irrational, but it is true. Truth means which exists, it could be seen or unseen, realizable or unexplainable, rational or illogical, or anything else; matter or antimatter. Realize the truth; it is all in itself, nothing else is complete. The whole world, we call it materialistic world, since we can see matter, makes a small part of the whole truth. Antimatter is a grey area for humans for over thousands of years, would still keep them engrossed for n number of years.

–Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”

Learning, learning and learning!

January 11, 2008

Learning is something which can bring you anything and everything in life, it can bring you success, money, fame, knowledge, skills; anything you can think of.

In my opinion, learning is an art as well as science. Art means the creativity side of it, while science means the logic (facts) side of it.

Learning as Science:
Learning process can be defined, planned and achieved using certain pre-defined or new rules; however rules do exist. The process can be broken into algorithmic steps; you can practice the process and hence achieve perfection. The same defined process could then be used by someone else.

Learning as Art:
During the process of learning, you are continuously adding new gems of knowledge and completely new facts to your already existing pool of knowledge. Two people learn the same things differently; reason being their creativity, their own style of using senses. They devise completely different, sometimes little different ways of learning the same thing, compared to others, learning the same thing. Everybody has their own bent of mind, areas of interest, areas of skills, level of intellect, hence results are different.

Keep learning, learning and learning; one point to keep in mind, learning being a powerful word, might leave you in confusion and hence directionless. Learning can become a colossal skill and asset, if it is in line with your interest, profession, curiosity, intellect level, perception or any of these areas.

Learn from life, learn from people around, learn from trees, learn from birds, animals and learn from sky, rivers everywhere; there are hidden pearls and diamonds all around.

Begin with learning in small steps and keep advancing with bigger steps and finally learn as a whole. Keep practising throughout and finally apply your own creativity, your own style. Once the learning is achieved or completed, continue practising in periodical routines, because iron gets rusted, if not used, similar are skills. Always keep sharpening and wiping off the dust from your saw.

Ø       I have never in my life learned anything from any man who agreed with me.  -         Dudley Field Malone

Ø       Some people will never learn anything, for this reason, because they understand everything too soon.  -         Alexander Pope

Ø       The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.  -         Alvin Toffler

Ø       Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.-         Gandhi

Ø       I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think -         Socrates

Ø       I never teach my pupils; I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn. -         Albert Einstein

Ø       What I hear, I forget.
     What I see, I remember.
     What I do, I understand.
-         Kung Fu Tzu (Confucius)

Ø       I think, therefore I am (Cogito, ergo sum.) -         Descartes

Ø       Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell ‘em, ‘Certainly I can!’ Then get busy and find out how to do it. -         Theodore Roosevelt

Ø       “I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship.”-         Louisa May Alcott

Taare Zamin Par – A Masterpiece

December 28, 2007

It is really difficult to talk something about the movie, since “taare zameen par” was a piece beyond words; however I would like to jot some of my thoughts about it.

It was an exclusive masterpiece of a kind which is made once in years. It was full of energy, colors, creativity and a master theme which was well illustrated from start till the end.

It is very difficult to feel boredom, if you are watching such movies. Aamir Khan was brilliant in the movie, but Darsheel Safary (Ishaan Avasthi – name in the movie) has outperformed him.

The kid has given a message to the entire world about relationships, love, energy, emotions and colors. The movie is well directed with amazing photography and spellbound performances by the cast.

I recommend all of you to go and watch it at least once. This was one of the best movies I had ever seen.

The movie connects to the unending, undiscovered and infinite possibilities of the humans. It relates to the divine relation of a mother and son. There is so much more to life, it goes on and on and on, you might quit the race or get exhausted but the colors keep changing.

Sunlight shines new rainbows everyday, clouds keep pouring their love on new grounds and trees continue to fragrance the world. Birds keep singing, unaware of the noise made by the world; stars shine everyday irrespective of the other lights around them.

Open the eyes within and around, try to collect gems, one by one from the never – ending pool of creativity, you yourself.

There is no time??

August 4, 2007

Mostly we hear people complaining about time. There is no time. They say, “We din’t get a chance, otherwise we could have achieved something in life”. To keep complaining of time and repeating the common phrase ‘No, time’ is nothing else but misleading your self. This is similar to running with the illusion of water in hot deserts, which is deceiving.

In order to be successful in life, not only efforts and virility is required but also time. Teenagers should use their time to the maximum extent, since it is the beginning of their life. This brightens their future. In an average person’s daily routine, once you separate the hours for eating, sleeping, means of living and regular schedules, we have minimum four hours left. Out of these four important hours going waste everyday, even if one starts investing one hour for some definite goal, it will lead to big results.

Full forty pages of a book can be read in four hours; 1200 pages in a month and 15000 pages in a year. If this process goes on for 10 years, one can read 1.5 lack pages. If all these pages relate to one particular subject, one can become an expert in that area.

Henry White learned Greek language utilising the time when he used to walk down to his office from home. After he became a military doctor, most of his time went riding the horse. He did not even let that time go waste and learned Italian and few other languages during riding. He has said “You get another second only after the current one completes. We should utilise this departing second to the fullest extent.”

Vinoba Bhave started utilising one hour everyday in learning foreign languages. It took no time for him to become an expert of 38 new languages. Edward Butler created 60 big novels despite of his hectic schedule in political and parliamentary activities. The famous poet Longfello utilised the time taken to boil the water for a cup of tea everyday and translated legendary epic “Inferlo” in few days.

The famous mathematician of Unites States, Charles Fast used to practice maths one hour everyday. His practice sessions continued throughout life. This continuity and perseverance made him a remarkable figure in the field of Maths.

Famous poet Mozart created the known epic “Recume’ on his deathbed. Napoleon defeated Australia because the soldiers of the rival took 5 extra minutes for preparation. However, the same Napoleon was tied and had lost his victory since his Military Head took few more minutes to come. Napoleon had also lost the famous war of ‘Waterloo’ for the same reason.

Franklin said, “One today is equivalent to two tomorrows. So, don’t keep waiting for tomorrow. One, who does not understand the importance of time, is born to survive at low levels of life.”

‘Tomorrow’ is a symbol of laziness and failure. So use all the time available TODAY. Never delay anything for tomorrow for tomorrow never comes. All you have left is here and now. ‘HERE’ is the only place left and ‘NOW’ is the only time!!

There is so much more to life!

July 31, 2007

Have you ever imagined how beautiful life is? All what you can see, hear and feel is a very small part of all what can be seen, heard and felt. A big portion of the nature and life is unseen, unfelt, untouched. It is waiting for us.

Have you ever seen the beauty of wet shining leaves when they shed off their dirt during monsoon? Have you checked the black clouds singing and asking the monsoon to pour on them? There is so much more to life than you can imagine. Explore new things. Explore new activities. Learn new things. There is a famous old story about a frog considering his small well as the entire world; once he comes out of his well, he realizes the world is so big. There is so much around to be explored. Our lives are like that. We are living like a frog considering our small well of illusion and experiences as the whole world. We never know what is going to happen next. Keep jumping for chances. They don’t have to hit you always. You should hit on them.

Check out the bright sun rising everyday and giving energy to the whole universe. We don’t remind Sun to rise everyday. Nobody does and nobody can. It does its duty duly and respectfully everyday without anybody’s reminders. The Moon shines everyday and fills the world with its beautiful, holy and peace giving moonlight. No body bothers about it. The stars shine like pearls and rubies in the sky. People are busy collecting useless, perishable rubies and diamonds. Have you ever bothered about how many stars are in the sky? Have you ever given a thought about any more planets like Earth, having any existence of life? Nature has so much to tell you. Walk around. Break old illusions, crap traditions. Remember a rule is something which somebody felt was right, he jotted it down. You may feel something else is right. Don’t trust or follow other’s rules and regulations blindly. Crave your own path.

Not only God Made entities are beautiful. Man made entities are also beautiful. Try to see a five star hotel shining with thousands of small lights appearing as shining dots from a plane in the night; ever heard of Taj Mahal, Pyramids etc. Why are they called wonders? They are really wonderful! All the verses of the “Quran”, the holy epic of Mohammedan’s, is carved on the walls of the Taj Mahal, the Indian wonder.

Listen to the birds singing in the evening. See the thousands of penguins filling the seacoast like a painting done in black and white. Feel the chilling breeze touching your face when you drive a bike at a high speed. Ride above at a height in the night and check out the traffic on the road. It creates an illusion of a train of candles moving slowly. There is so much to live and experience. Find your passions, discover your interests. Create new interests.

Life has so much so much to say about it. Check out! Open your eyes.
