Serial blasts freak India

July 27, 2008

Blasts everywhere; in Bangalore, in Ahmedabad; everyday; Are we the next target? Policemen are still diffusing live bombs. People are aghast to step out of the their home. What has happened? Everywhere are debris and shambles. Policemen are checking every person, be it walking or in car or on motorbike. Every bag is getting scanned. Government has declared high alert in most of the big cities including Mumbai. Every theatre is declared closed in Maharashtra. Government is calling confidential security meetings. What has happened to the country? Where are we leading? Is this the way India will lead to a bright future? Is this how we are going to reach the pinnacle of progress? Is this how we can attain the path to remain peaceful yet be continuously learning and progressing?

People might think we need armies and ammunitions now. Enough sitting and chatting, we need bloodshed and shootouts. My question is: Will this solve the problem? Can we shoot all the criminals? Can we guarantee that no more criminals will be born? Can we guarantee that after we shoot the offenders, will there be peace and happiness? Can we feel the anguish and remorse between Hindus and Muslims?

It is of no use to blame system everywhere and for every outcome. We are the smallest elements of the system. We are the system and we make the system. Let us not burn lamps to lighten other’s lives. Let us lighten our hearts. Let us burn ourselves so much that we turn all the sick elements to ashes and are only left with fresh baby souls, without any hatred and agony. That way we can pay homage to all the people who got burned and were smashed to pieces due to sad bomb blasts in last few days.

Noble sentiments yes. but they are not going to make our citzens safer. There is certanly a need to recognise that the country is faced with a very serious problem and take all actions required to deal with it, no matter how unpleasant they might appear in the short run.

Thanks a lot guys for reading and commenting. It is indeed true that for short run, all the necessary steps to eradicate terrorism should be taken. But for long run, we have actively participitate in changing ourselves. Every one should fight for their own goodness from their own will, to eradicate all ill elements of ourselves. This indeed will work out to help make the system good one day.. Lets participate, love u all
